When To Use Immune Booster

To prevent colds and flu apply 1-2 times per day especially during cold and flu season.

Combat respiratory infections by applying Immune Booster as soon as you wake up with a sore, scratchy throat.

Manage hay fever allergies with Immune Booster by applying the oil when you are experiencing hay fever symptoms.

How To Use Immune Booster

  1. Apply to the skin of your feet only. The essential oils in this blend are very powerful and can cause skin irritation. The skin around your feet is the thickest skin of the body. If a skin reaction occurs, dilute the Immune Booster with any cold pressed carrier oil such as jojoba oil, coconut oil or olive oil.
  2. To prevent colds and flu, use 1-2 times per day. For hay fever allergies, apply when hay fever symptoms appear.
  3. Apply the essential oil blend to the skin of your feet and ankles.
  4. Massage the oil well into your ankles, arch of the foot and the crease of the toes (anywhere that your foot does not touch the ground).
  5. Apply socks or slippers to ensure the oil absorbs into your body.

Never suffer through cold and flu season again with our Cold and Flu Season Pack.

How Sinus Clearing Blend Works To Decongest Blocked Sinuses

Sinus Clearing Blend bottle and box

Aromatherapy Clinic’s in house aromatherapist designed our Sinus Clearing Blend as a natural remedy to instantly clear your blocked nose and congested sinuses.

Menthol and eucalyptus essential oils are often used to help unblock a stuffy or congested nose due to their natural properties and soothing effects. Here’s how they work:

Cooling Sensation

Menthol, which is found in peppermint oil, provides a cooling sensation when it comes into contact with the skin or mucous membranes. This cooling sensation can help relieve the irritation and inflammation in the nasal passages, making it easier to breathe.

Anti-Inflammatory Properties

Both menthol and eucalyptus essential oils have anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation in the nasal passages can lead to congestion and blockage. These oils can help reduce this inflammation, which in turn can relieve nasal congestion.

Mucous Thinning

Eucalyptus oil, in particular, has the ability to thin mucus. When you have a stuffy nose, mucus can become thick and sticky, making it difficult to clear. Eucalyptus oil can help make the mucus thinner and easier to expel.

Opening Airways

The aroma of menthol and eucalyptus can also help open up the airways by relaxing the muscles in the respiratory system. This can lead to improved airflow and easier breathing.

Here are some ways to use our Sinus Clearing Blend of essential oils to unblock a nose:

  • Steam Inhalation: Add a few drops of our Sinus Clearing Blend to a bowl of hot water. Carefully inhale the steam by leaning over the bowl with a towel draped over your head to trap the steam. Inhale deeply for a few minutes to help clear your nasal passages.
  • Aromatherapy: Use an essential oil diffuser to disperse the scent of the essential oil blend into the air in your room. Breathing in the aroma can help relieve congestion.
  • Topical Application: Mix a few drops of the essential oil with a carrier oil (such as coconut or jojoba oil) and apply the mixture to your chest or throat. The oils can be absorbed through the skin and provide relief from congestion.

It’s important to use essential oils with caution, as they can be potent and may cause skin irritation or other adverse reactions in some individuals. If you have underlying medical conditions or are pregnant, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before using essential oils for nasal congestion relief. Additionally, make sure to use high-quality, pure essential oils and dilute them as needed to avoid any skin irritation.

What Do The Aromatherapy Clinic Blends Smell Like?

If you’re shopping online it’s not easy to have the full idea of the product before it reaches your hands. This article is to help you experience the Aromatherapy Clinic blends while you browse through our range of healing essential oils. All of our therapeutic aromatherapy blends have a specific proportion of each ingredient to target the specified ailment, so they were designed to treat and heal you, not to be a perfume with a scent profile. But if you would like to know what the blends do smell like, please read on…

ANTI SNORING BLEND

The Anti Snoring Blend smells sweet and floral with woody-musky notes from the cistus essential oil. There are sweet top notes of Ylang Ylang and Patchouli. The citrus oils used in this blend come through in the middle notes of the aroma.

ECZEMA BLEND

Our Eczema Blend mainly smells like chamomile, soothing and calm. The floral notes of geranium and patchouli are also present in the middle and base notes.

ENERGISING BLEND

The top notes of Energising Blend are citrus and thyme followed by middle notes of peppermint. Then the base notes of warming black pepper follow through.

IMMUNE BOOSTER

Immune Booster bottle and box

Our Immune Booster smells medicinal. The scent is mainly woody and spicy from the cinnamon with gentle floral notes from the frankincense and myrrh.

JOINT BLEND

Joint Blend bottle and box

The Joint Blend initially smells medicinal, then the warming and spicy notes of clove, cinnamon and black pepper come through to soothe and comfort you.

MONTHLY COMFORT

Monthly Comfort bottle and box

Monthly Comfort Blend mainly contains spikenard which is a ancient oil used for its medicinal and ceremonial purposes. The use of spikenard has been documented throughout history across India and Europe.

MUSCLE PAIN REMEDY

Muscle Pain Remedy product bottle and box

Our Muscle Pain Remedy blend smells herby and minty at first the follows with warming spices. It feels calming and soothing.

RELAXING BLEND

Relaxing Blend smells sweet and floral due to the main oils lavender and ylang ylang. The base notes of bergamot gives a rich floral feel after the top notes have faded and cedarwood rounds out the scent.

RESPIRATORY BLEND

Respiratory Blend Box

Our Respiratory Blend hits you in the nose with eucalyptus and tea tree, then lures you in with the spearmint and peppermint middle notes. It’s very refreshing.

SINUS CLEARING BLEND

Sinus Clearing Blend bottle and box

The Sinus Clearing Blend begins with spearmint top notes then you detect the eucalyptus in the middle notes. Finally, the base notes are predominately herbaceous rosemary and then gentle lemon citrus at the end.

AIR FRESHENER

The undiluted bottle smells slightly different compared with the spray bottle due to the solubiliser in the mixture. Oils don’t mix with water so the solubiliser allows the product to be sprayed into a mist. The undiluted bottle has top notes of citrus with minty middle notes and woody base notes. I think this blend of oils could also work well as a deodorant as these oils prevent the body odour-causing bacteria to survive on your skin. Remember, before applying to sensitive armpits, the undiluted oil should be diluted 50/50 in a carrier oil such as jojoba, coconut or olive oil.

The Connection Between Hay Fever & Your Immune System

What is Hay Fever?

A portion of the world’s population experiences hay fever around spring time. This percentage varies between counties but the CDC reports approximately 25% of people in the USA have seasonal allergies, aka hay fever. Hay fever symptoms include; itchy eyes, runny nose, blocked sinuses, sneezing, coughing and excess mucus production. These symptoms are associated with histamine production from your immune system. Basically, plant pollen levels increase in the air during springtime so we breathe more pollen into our airways, which triggers an immune response in people who are allergic to pollen. The immune system detects that the body is “infected”, but we understand that the body is actually just having an allergic reaction to pollen.

How do you stop Hay Fever?

Some allergies are genetic and some people with no family history of allergies may develop allergies. What we can do is help our immune system and its response to the allergen, ie. the thing that causes the allergy. As the human body produces histamine in response to a perceived threat to our vital organs (the allergen) some people are able to manage allergy and hay fever symptoms using antihistamines. Antihistamines are medicines that work by blocking the body’s immune response to histamine. There are both man-made and natural anti-histamines.

Aromatherapy can also help ease the symptoms of hay fever, colds and flu, while helping your immune system to work for you, not against you.

The one aromatherapy blend that has helped my family find relief from hay fever and also to prevent colds and flu, is the Immune Booster. Follow this link for more information on the Immune Booster and where to find it.

The Difference Between Your Upper & Lower Respiratory Tracts

The respiratory tract of humans, and other animals, is separated into two sections based on the position and function of the organs involved.

The main difference between your upper and lower respiratory tract is that your upper respiratory tract mainly controls the transfer of air to the lower respiratory tract while the lower respiratory tract is mainly involved in controlling the movement of gasses into and out of the body.

You will notice that mucus is produced in both the upper and lower respiratory tracts as it is an important part of our immune system. Mucus captures foreign materials; such as dust, bacteria and viruses so that they are easily expelled from the body without causing an infection.

Your body may sometimes produce excess mucus which can cause symptoms such as breathing difficulties, coughing and wheezing.

Additional fun fact: The immune system has multiple barriers in place to prevent potential infections; especially at the sites of entry such as your nose, mouth, respiratory tract including the lungs, skin, eyes, etc. In addition to mucus, these barriers include enzymes, hairs, cilia, symbiotic microorganisms and much more.

For a natural way to clear and soothe your upper respiratory tract use Sinus Clearing Blend by Aromatherapy Clinic on your chest like a vapour rub, inhale directly from the bottle or add to a steaming bowl of water and allow the vapours to soothe your blocked and irritated airways.

For lower respiratory tract congestion and a chesty cough I recommend Respiratory Blend by Aromatherapy Clinic.
